I wrote this over the course of several weeks because SOMEBODY needs a miracle in their business right now! And let me tell you….

GOD WILL MAKE A WAY

When things in business feel hopeless – when you feel helpless on your entrepreneurial journey – you just need to know that God promises to make a way. When you feel like every door of opportunity has been shut, or you can’t see how that loan is going to get paid on time, He will make a way because God is a waymaker and he will make a way to provide a miracle in your business. He’ll make a way through keeping the promise of a vision for your business or he’ll just shine light into the darkness of your situation. Godpreneurs, I need you to keep believing that God makes a way in the middle of no way. Israel found themselves at the Red Sea and God separated the waters. And in the midst of impossibility, Israel walked through on dry ground: sea separated on each side, and they walked through. That’s a God that makes a way in the middle of no way. You know when I talk about God being a miracle worker along your entrepreneurial journey, there are a lot of skeptics in the world today (even within the Christian business community) that would say that the miracles of the Bible either never actually took place or they’re not for today. However, the question for all of us is, “really, is he still working miracles?” That’s the question. Is he still the miracle worker today? Is God still in the miracle business? Does He work miracles in secular businesses? Can blind eyes that have never been seen miraculously can be open? Can God still take just a small amount of food and still multiply that food to feed thousands? Can a client check unexpectedly arrive the day before rent is due? Can God intervene in the issues destroying my business partnership, and miraculously turn things around? And Godpreneurs, let me tell you something: based on what I’ve seen in scriptures and what I’ve seen with my own two eyes, and what I’ve personally experienced in my business, I want to tell you that God is still in the business of doing miracles. I want you to know that today, and I say this with all of my heart, He is still a miracle worker. Over the past few years, I’ve experienced God heal my marriage that seemed beyond repair. I’ve watched him bring me business partners and investors that show me favor. I’ve watched him provide financially in my business when all hope seemed to be lost. I´ve watched God provide for my employees when I said there’s just no way that we can keep this staff. I’ve watched him bring me the right client at the right time.

You’ve got the business you do, right? Do you know what God’s business is? God is in the business of doing miracles. He always has been, and He will continue to be for you and for me. I want you to know that. I want you to believe it because I believe it with everything inside of me. BUSINESS MIRACLES TAKE FAITH Most of us, I would say, have no problem believing that God does miracles today, however, we’re not quite sure he’ll do them for us in this situation we’re in RIGHT NOW. In order to experience a miracle, sometimes you have to take a step of faith. Miracles are God’s business. Obedience is mine. Miracles are God’s business. Obedience is yours. God is still the miracle worker, but you´ve got to take a step of faith. I heard a catchy quote that says something like, “you can’t expect God to do the supernatural if you aren’t willing to do the natural.” The way I take that is if you want to see the miraculous, you have to take steps of obedience; you have to trust God. You have to have faith that the idea for a product or service that God put on your heart is the only next move you need to make. Or you have to be obedient that if God has nudged you to walk away from a business partner, you need to close that chapter and wait expectantly for God to do what he’s in the business of doing: your next season miracle.

You have to ask God what He wants you to do in your business situation, and you have to do what he’s asking you to do, even if you don’t want to, even if everything inside of you is screaming “No! That doesn’t make sense”. Some of you are agreeing with me right now and believing in God for a desired outcome in your business situation, but quite honestly, what you are asking God to do for you requires a miracle to get it done. You need a miracle…and Jesus is the miracle worker. Nothing is impossible for Jesus to do for you along your entrepreneurial journey. Luke 1:37 says: “For nothing will be impossible with God.” Matthew 19:26 says: “But Jesus looked and said with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Did you catch that? It says with God, all things are possible in your business. I love Ephesians 3:20, too. Paul writes “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” What does that mean? It just means simply God is able. God is able. I also heard a preaching one time where the pastor explained that most miracles are the byproduct of a long obedience in the same direction. And that makes total sense! Successful entrepreneurship is a journey of doing a lot of little things in the right direction. For some of you guys, God is saying to “get up, trust me, move forward, take steps of obedience.” Here’s another thing: if Jesus does a miracle in your business, there’s always a bigger purpose involved. What ‘s the purpose? It will always, always, always be about bringing God glory and drawing you closer to him, to deepen your faith, to put Jesus on display. Listen, every one of the miracles in the book of John – every one of the miracles in the Bible – is about bringing glory to God and deepening the faith of the people involved in the miracle. Godpreneurs, here’s what you need to know: God will never waste your partnership pains, he will never waste your human resources hurts, he will never waste your sales slumps, and he will never waste a miracle. And, the other thing is, regardless of how long you’ve been waiting on a miracle breakthrough along your entrepreneurial journey, Jesus has not forgotten about you. There are no promises in God’s word that says that God’s going to prosper every entrepreneur that is suffering or every business that is going bankrupt, every partnership that’s in pain while we’re here on this earth. Could he financially restore every entrepreneur in the world right now that’s in debt? Absolutely. However, for whatever reason, he chooses not to. Even though Romans 8:23 says we groan to be released from pain and suffering in this lifetime, it won’t be until we get to heaven that will be healed and be given new bodies. And listen, that’s a tough reality to accept about God’s sovereignty. It’s especially tough if you are a business owner that is suffering, or someone that you love deeply is struggling along their entrepreneurial journey, and you just watch him suffer month after month…year after year. However, even though I don’t understand why God may choose to do a miracle in Bobby’s business, but he chooses not to do a miracle over here in Sally’s business, I do know this: He is compassionate, he is loving, he is good, and he has not forgotten about any of his Godpreneurs. He is with YOU just as much as he is with the person that he does the miracle for. Listen: some of you are waiting on God to do a miracle in your financial situation. Listen: our savior is still a miracle worker. God is still a promise keeper. He has not forgotten about you. I’ll leave you with Isaiah 40:28. It says:

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men(I) stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Godpreneurs: that means that regardless of what you’ve been through today, Jesus is still a miracle worker. So the question I leave for you to meditate on today is: Do you need a miracle in your business?
